Biodegradable foam

Enzymatically biodegradable open-pore foam unlocks reusable absorbent packaging and disposable filters without long-lasting residues.

What it is

It forms an aqueous dispersion of an enzymatically biodegradable biopolymer plus a foaming agent, then dries it to create a dried foam with an open-pore network. The open pores increase internal surface area and absorption, enabling lightweight foams tailored by formulation before drying. Previously, deploying this specific dried open-pore foam approach required licensing rights and controlled supply of the patented formulation method.

What you could build

Launch compostable absorbent pads and reusable packaging liners using dried open-pore enzymatic foam manufacturing.
