Three-dimension imaging lidar

3D imaging LiDAR range-resolved scanning that unlocks robot perception and mapping from public-domain optics.

What it is

This technology uses a laser transmitter, a receiver, and scanning optics to measure distance to many points and build a 3D, range-resolved image of a scene. Its significance is that it converts reflected light into depth estimates across a whole target scene, rather than a single spot measurement, enabling true 3D geometry. Before the patent expired, teams building scanning LiDAR-based perception systems had to license the protected implementation details for such range-resolved 3D imaging.

What you could build

Build autonomous navigation and warehouse mapping stacks using affordable 3D scanning LiDAR modules without legacy licensing.
