Reverse osmosis membrane and process

Reverse osmosis hydrophilic antifouling membrane coatings that cut scaling and unlock easier high-salinity water treatment.

What it is

The patent uses a hydrophilic coating on a reverse osmosis membrane to reduce fouling while water is driven through the membrane by pressure higher than the feed’s osmotic pressure. That technical constraint means operation can keep salt rejection high using straightforward crossflow and a pressure set above osmotic pressure rather than chemical-heavy cleaning. Without licensing, founders could previously be blocked from commercializing this specific coating approach and its process around fouling-resistant RO operation.

What you could build

Build low-chemical desalination and wastewater polishing systems for municipal plants, industrial reuse, or mobile RO trailers.
