Depth estimation using structured light

Structured-light depth estimation that turns projected patterns into real-time distance maps—now free to build without licensing hurdles.

What it is

The system projects a known light pattern onto a scene and calculates depth by analyzing how the pattern shifts across captured images. It enables dense 3D reconstruction by converting pixel-level image disparity into distance measurements, often at video-rate. Previously, commercial depth-sensing products typically required licensing from the patent holder to ship reliable structured-light depth stacks.

What you could build

Build low-cost 3D scanning and collision-avoidance for robotics using structured-light depth sensing hardware and SDKs.
