AI Guidance for Physical Work

AI can't do physical work yet, but it can see, reason and guide the person who does. YC wants real-time AI coaching that makes field, factory and healthcare workers effective right away.

Most AI talk is about desk jobs. For physical work such as field services, manufacturing and healthcare, YC says AI can't yet act in the world, but it can see, reason and guide the human who does. Picture wearing a small camera while an AI sees what you see and talks you through the job ("use the ⅜ inch wrench"), so workers become effective immediately instead of after months or years of training.

Why now: multimodal models can now reason reliably about real-world situations; phones, AirPods and smart glasses are everywhere; and skilled labor shortages make it economically urgent.

The ask: sell the system to companies with existing workforces, build a full-stack workforce in one vertical such as HVAC repair or nursing, or build a platform that lets anyone become a skilled worker or start their own business.
