Full Description
I’m just constantly pissed off now and people are starting to comment on it. I’m trying not to be, but I’m so on edge about everything because I’m wasting an hour and a half driving just to sit in an office doing work I could easily do at home while saving a ton of time and money.
I’m actively job hunting and really hoping I can land something remote. If I can’t get out in the next few months, I’m seriously considering applying for the police academy instead. The 9–5 office grind is not for me at all. I feel like my brain is slowly rotting every minute I’m in that building.
I barely talk to anyone at work anymore. I give one-word answers and avoid conversations completely. Most people have finally picked up on it and leave me alone now, which I honestly prefer because I don’t like them and don’t care to socialize there. I just show up, do what’s required, and leave.
The hardest part is making sure this doesn’t spill over onto my family. I love them more than anything, so on the drive home I try to burn off as much of the anger as I can so I don’t snap at them. None of this is their fault, and it wouldn’t be fair to take it out on them.

Great just what the world need another angry cop. You don’t need a gun or interpersonal challenges, you need a hug and therapy. I’m all for you getting out of office or changing careers but opting for police as your escape plan seems wrong

You do realize police officers cannot work from home?

You do realize cops still have to talk to people, talk to coworkers, and do office work, right? It's not all running, guns, and car chases. Also, the hours are most likely going to be longer and weirder.

Please don’t become a cop OP. If you’re this on edge from your 9-5 being in office when most are unemployed seeking jobs at the moment you are not stable emotionally. As a cop, you will do TONS of paper work at a desk. Lots of admin stuff. Sure you’ll have your fair share of traffic stops and arrests but sometimes work is work and you can’t change that. If you dig deeper is it really you just don’t want to work for someone, or at all? Maybe look into starting your own business.

If you can't handle an office environment please do not go to the police academy.

Finding another remote role is hard. You're most likely gonna have to accept rto even if you leave

So you don't want to drive into an office and work remotely only to get a police job where you will be home even less? TF?

You sound insufferable. Treating your also forced back to the office coworkers with contempt is immature and disrespectful.

Polish that resume, you are on the path to not having a job. As far as finding another remote job, good luck. In reality you should learn work in office. Remote jobs are far and few now and hybrid is more prevelant. Oh, you dont like 9 to 5 but think law enforcement have a better schedule?

As someone who also hates being an in office, I get it. Fuck all of these people shitting on you for venting. I would recommend finding an outlet for your frustrations though, that will eat you alive.
