SaaS Products Lack Differentiation and Originality

Reddit Community

Community Problem

Elevator Pitch

The proliferation of generic, uninspired SaaS products is stifling innovation and user experience, indicating a need for tools and frameworks that encourage genuine creativity and robust feature development.

Full Description

Seeing a lot of saas launches on different subs. Every fucking one of them looks the same. Same auth, same buttons, same icons, the core features ain't working most of the times, if it's working either it's wrapper of openclaw or something Claude code doing underneath. I guess its fucked. ARe we losing creativity? With few exceptions, people have made programming a fucking rat race of mediocre products.

EDIT : Exactly, with Claude code in your lap, you can create a much better ui.

You have a brilliant idea in the shower. You rush to create it. After a few weeks, it works, and you're ready to release. Oh wait, no, I need a damn landing page. Shit. Fricking waste of time. Claude, build me a landing page. – every 1 person dev team The login page probably came from a framework or plugin, but if it didn't, it's another one of those things you just have to get done to get to the "important" part.

Because instead of spending time on actual design they are just spitting out rushed, generated low-effort code with the same component libraries that a ton of other folks are using. For example, vercel's v0 product uses shadcn components for what it generates, all the people using that to build products end up looking very similary. When companies actually bother to spend time on design their products stand out. Most vibe coding platforms use the same generic tailwind/shadcn SaaS boilerplate. It’s what they’ve been trained on and people are impressed when they see it the first time, if they’ve never seen it before. But now a year or so into this gold rush, they all just look the same. It’s like Twitter bootstrap was in 2013. You have to have taste to make it look distinct. Or in this case be intentionally chaotic: [SlopDrop.net](https://www.slopdrop.net)
