About This Fellowship

The Google.org AI Opportunity Fund is one of the largest philanthropic commitments to AI education globally. Launched with $75 million for the United States and expanded internationally, the fund supports best-in-class workforce development and education organizations in delivering AI skills training to communities that might otherwise be left behind.

Grants are distributed through regional partners — the Centre for Public Impact (CPI) in Europe, AVPN in Asia-Pacific, and direct partnerships in the US and Canada. Recipients include organizations like Skills for Change (Canada), the First Nations Technology Council, and the Toronto Public Library, alongside dozens of nonprofits across 35+ countries.

The fund is designed to help over one million people learn essential AI skills, combining Google-designed foundational AI courses with cash support for organizations to adapt training to local languages and community needs.
