Elevator Pitch

CAD, EDA and CFD tools still rely on slow physics solvers and expert operators. YC wants AI-powered engineering tools that let engineers design physical systems faster.

Full Description

YC argues that engineering tools for the physical world have barely changed in decades. Mechanical engineers use CAD/CAM software, electrical engineers use EDA tools for circuit and chip design, and aerospace engineers use CFD tools for fluid and thermal analysis. All still depend on complex numerical solvers and physics simulations that are computationally expensive and take deep training, sometimes a PhD, to use well.

Why now: YC points to new AI models with reasoning that can solve math and physics problems. It believes these can help engineers design and build planes, buildings, circuits, chips and satellites faster and better.

The ask: AI-aided engineering tools to serve as the next generation of computer-aided engineering.
