Full Description
YC says smart programmers often see enterprise software as boring: you have to do sales, and because every customer wants something slightly different, the product grows bloated. YC argues the core of what customers want is the same; they just want it customized around the edges.
AI is good at writing code, especially when it can learn from an existing codebase. YC's idea: skip long sales cycles, give customers a simple starter product and let them tell the AI how to customize it. Every company could have its own ERP, CRM or HRIS that keeps updating as the company changes.
YC thinks incumbents would struggle to copy this, since they would have to rethink how they build software rather than add another feature.
The ask: AI that builds and customizes enterprise software, which YC calls the most profitable software to build.
