About Questd
A platform for people who want to work on something that genuinely matters.
Why we exist
Most ambitious people hit the same wall at some point. They have the drive, the skills, and the willingness to take real risk. What they lack is a clear answer to a deceptively simple question: what is actually worth working on?
The world is big, complex, and messy. Problems worth solving are everywhere, but they are scattered across VC theses, research papers, institutional reports, and the quiet frustration of people in industries that software has never bothered to understand. There is no single place to go and find them.
Questd is that place.
We curate validated, unsolved problems from venture capital firms, academic researchers, government bodies, and community contributors. Every problem on the platform is attributed to a specific source. Every listing is a real signal from people who have spent their careers staring at what is broken.
We built this for the founders who are still searching. For the builders who know they want to work on something hard, but have not yet found the specific thing they are willing to dedicate years of their life to.
How problems are sourced
Every problem on Questd comes with a source. Not a vague reference, but a specific institution: a VC firm's published investment thesis, an NIH research gap statement, an accelerator's stated focus area, or a community submission backed by real evidence and domain experience.
We do not accept anonymous or unsubstantiated submissions. Source credibility and attribution are displayed alongside every problem, because where a problem comes from is part of what makes it worth taking seriously.
What Questd is not
Questd is not an investor, a fund, or an accelerator. We do not evaluate pitches, take equity, or fund companies. We are a neutral discovery platform. We catalogue problems, not solutions, not teams, not pitches. If you are looking for capital, there are better places. If you are looking for the right problem to dedicate yourself to, you are in the right place.
Our values
Problems over opportunities
Tech's most important mental model is asking what problem you are solving, and how big it is. That question is at the heart of everything on this platform.
Openness by default
The best ideas spread when knowledge is shared. We are building in public, we encourage transparent attribution, and we believe that naming a problem clearly is the first step to solving it.
Difficulty as a feature
Easy problems are being handled. The returns, the impact, and the meaning are all moving toward the things that are still hard. We exist to help people find those problems.
Time is the real resource
Money, tools, and talent are more accessible than ever before. The scarcest thing anyone has is time. We take it seriously.
How it started
Questd started as a personal problem.
I kept feeling lost. Not for lack of ambition or capability, but for lack of direction. The world is full of problems worth solving and I had no good system for finding the ones that were right for me, achievable within my lifetime, and important enough to justify the sacrifice.
I built Questd because I needed it. And because I suspected I was not the only one.
The platform exists for the small percentage of people who are not satisfied building what is easy or expected. For the ones who feel they are capable of more and are willing to go looking for the thing that is worthy of that capacity. Whether you find your problem here in an afternoon or return dozens of times over months before something clicks, this is the place for that search.
