Summary

The Google.org Accelerator: Generative AI is a 6-month program designed to help nonprofits, civic entities, academic institutions, and social enterprises harness generative AI to address significant societal challenges. Launched in 2024, it has already supported over 40 organizations collectively expecting to reach more than 30 million beneficiaries.

Selected organizations receive a share of $30 million in funding alongside six months of dedicated pro bono assistance from Google's AI engineers, technical training, and access to Google Cloud credits including Vertex AI and Gemini. The program focuses on Google.org's core impact areas: Knowledge, Skills & Learning; Scientific Advancement; and Resilient Communities.

What makes this accelerator distinctive is the depth of hands-on technical support — Google employees work directly with each organization's technical team, providing not just funding but engineering capacity to build production-grade AI solutions.
